In this video, I add the sheet music to a previous video of mine featuring an R&B chord progression in C minor. This piece is part of an as-yet-unpublished composition titled "Shifting".
Since the piece modulates quickly between C minor and G major (and back), I decided to use a dual color scheme-green and red-for the chord symbols belonging to each respective key. The same color coding applies to the Roman Numeral Analysis.
One interesting point is the use of a subV7 (Ab7,13) followed by the altered dominant (D7b9) of G major-usually, these two chords appear in the opposite order. I also find it fascinating how the Gmaj7 is “transformed” into a G7alt to return smoothly to the original key of C minor.
