Returning to AFI! Bass Teacher REACTS to “Sacrifice Theory”

➡️ I've been chomping at the bit to do another analysis on AFI. As I once said, my only real impression of the band was from "Miss Murder", and discovering "Totalimmortal" a few months ago flipped everything I knew about this band on its head. "Sacrifice Theory" from their 2000 release "The Art of Drowning" was such a holistic composition, despite flying by in 2 minutes flat. I discuss how bassist Hunter Burgan drives the song with meandering pentatonic grooves against the band's upbeat-oriented riff styles, his insanely swift double-note scale movements, the band's unpredictable rhythms and accent placements (especially in the bridge), the dense melody layering (how 'bout them gang vocals?!), and much more! I juuuuust wished the bass was a touch louder. ????????????????
