Jerry Lee 'Smoochy' Smith (1939-2022) was a Sun and Stax artist and piano player on many early Sun Records. Jerry Lee gained the nickname “Smoochie” at a drive-in movie one night when he was caught kissing a girl. Since both he and Jerry Lee Lewis shared the same first name, “Smoochie Smith” stuck.
According to Steve Cropper, "Jerry Lee ‘Smoochy’ Smith came up with the piano riff that was played on the organ. "Last Night" is an instrumental recorded by The Mar-Keys. Released in 1961, the track appeared on Last Night!, the first LP released by the Stax label.
Smoochie was an actor, known for Space Cowboys (2000), Rush Hour 3 (2007), and Blues Brothers 2000 (1998). Smith passed away on 6 September 2022 in Bartlett, Tennessee, USA.

W.S. "Fluke" Holland (April 22, 1935 – September 23, 2020) was an esteemed American drummer best known for his long tenure with Johnny Cash. Born in Saltillo, Tennessee, Holland initially gained attention as a session drummer for Sun Records, where he played on several iconic rockabilly recordings, including Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes."
In 1960, Holland joined Johnny Cash's band, the Tennessee Three, and became an integral part of Cash's sound for nearly four decades. His innovative drumming style, characterized by a steady and distinctive beat, helped define many of Cash's classic hits. Holland's contributions can be heard on landmark albums such as "At Folsom Prison" and "At San Quentin."
Throughout his career, W.S. Holland was celebrated for his versatility and skill, making a lasting impact on the country, rock, and rockabilly genres. His legacy as a pioneering drummer is remembered for his significant role in shaping the sound of American music.
