Bio:
A.J. Peoples is a freelance trumpet player and private teacher located in Dayton, Ohio. He has performed professionally with the Wright State University Faculty Brass Quintet, the University of Illinois Graduate Brass Quintet, various musical theater companies such as Dare 2 Defy Productions, Dayton Playhouse, and Playhouse South, as well as playing for numerous churches and private events. Currently, A.J. serves as principal trumpet in the Mason (OH) Symphony Orchestra. A.J. also had the opportunity to perform internationally as a part of the Orvieto Musica summer festival in 2018. He has studied with Dr. Daniel Zehringer, Charles Daval, and Ronald Romm.
While the majority of his training has centered on classical trumpet playing, A.J. has experience playing in the jazz and commercial realms as well. As an educator, he has experience teaching trumpet to students ranging from beginners through advanced players, many of whom have had success auditioning for honor bands and collegiate music programs. Having earned degrees in music education and trumpet performance from Wright State University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, A.J. is a versatile performer and teacher.
