When I was in college at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE) I learned how to sail. There was a little lake on campus and students could check out Sunfish and sail around the laker. A few times the school would have sailing trips to larger lakes. Occasionally I would take one of these trips. I enjoyed learning how to sail these little boats. It was a relaxing hobby that I occasionally enjoyed. This song is about those experiences sailing. The person who taught me how to sail died about a year ago. He was a very kind nd gentle man. I miss the magic he brought into my world/
