Have you always thought that "Giant Step" by the great Coltrane was too difficult a song to accompany ?! Right! it is a difficult piece ... but it can also be accompanied in a simple way. In this Practice Along, we will only use the first 4 frets + open strings, and the chord tones. It is divided into 2 parts ... the first part "listen & repeat" and the second part will be the walking bass all in a row. We will do 2 Choruses and, the second Chorus, will have "the inversion of the notes", let me explain: if the first bar has B-D # -Re-F #, we will invert the notes on each chord, so it will be D # - B- and F # -D ... in this very simple way, we get a second bass line, without effort ????
