Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, model, and fashion icon who broke barriers in the male-dominated Tejano music industry. Known as the “Queen of Tejano Music”, her powerful voice and eclectic style expanded the audience for Tejano music and contributed to the rise of Latin music in the United States. In 1994, Selena became the first Tejano artist to win a Grammy for her album Selena Live!.
