UNDERWATER SELKIE (ft. Song of the Sea Lullaby) - Here is a short selkie seal mermaid video featuring music from the popular selkie film, Song of the Sea. Do you know what a selkie is? Have you heard of selkie mythology? In case you've only heard of selkie dresses, allow me to introduce you to the original meaning of the word. Selkies are fantastical creatures from Celtic and Norse Mythology who can take on both the form of a human and the form of a seal by wearing or shedding their magical seal skin. Because I'm just a woman in a selkie costume, I obviously cannot transform into a seal. So I'm dressed in a mermaid inspired selkie outfit that deviates slightly from the traditional appearance of selkie folk... but I love it. :)

PLEASE NOTE:
Selkies are a mythological creature from Celtic and Norse stories. Traditionally, selkies are depicted as shapeshifters who can change between a seal form and a human form, depending on if they are wearing their seal skin or not. This version of a selkie is mermaid-like. This was Kaitlyn's idea and I love it so, so much!
