Sharing faith is a tricky subject. Because it is so personal to everyone, the conversation can be really awkward or even worse... confrontational. If you've grown up in the church you'll be familiar with tools like the chasm, tracts, the four spiritual laws, or using the 10 commandments to reveal sin in others. What if we've been going about this all the wrong way?

Christians are afraid to share their faith. The community has been burned by too many big tent revivals, evangelism crusades, and friendship evangelism that invites them into homes and attempts to force a decision. Something needs to change.

We need to learn to share our faith without having an agenda. Thankfully, Jesus provides the framework in Matthew 13 to be sowers of good news, scattering the seed of the Kingdom wherever we walk, not caring about how it might be received. It frees up the Christian to focus on saturating the world with the Good News, without attempting to force a conversion.

It puts the Holy Spirit in the proper place. As we go about our lives we sow seed, then the Spirit is the one who grows the harvest. Some of that seed won't bear fruit, but some will. And that fruit it bears will multiply in incredible ways.

Whether you've been burned by a confrontational encounter, or you're petrified of sharing your faith, let God set you free to be centred in Him. Good News for you. Good News for others.
