She is like the ocean (Spoken Word)

This was a poem I wrote for my fiancé for Valentine’s Day.
I figured I’d share it on here

She is like the ocean
Deep and majestic
It leaves me restless
She shapes my once hardened heart with each wave like a stone into gentle sand
I stare at her vast beauty
longing to be capsized by her waves
to drown in her depths and fill my lungs with her crests and undertow

Her beauty shimmers in the sun like diamond eyes Gazing far out to the horizon line
I’m paralyzed
Captivated
Drawn to her movements
The truth is in the connection
Saline like blood water to taste on my tongue
She has me overrun
Until I become one
in her

Cradled in silence
swimming in the currents of my mind adrift
This bliss as I taste her kiss of tides mesmerized in the hues of blue green flesh stretched across her breasts filling my heart and chest
I profess
She is in my breath
My depth
When I am lost fathoms below hidden in the place with out light
The deep space of the midnight
Her bioluminescent guiding me back to the surface to draw another breath
Parting her lips
Breaching
I crash back into her
my fins outstretched

Singing the songs of the whale
as our souls connect
Schools of fish
scatter dance and reform
showing me the signs of her wondrous true form

She is the ocean crashing down upon me washing me free from the pain I had in me
Mother to my childlike wonder
Pulling me close holding me under … a blanket of stars

Afloat as the wind takes me further than I’ve ever seen until nothing looks familiar to me just a sea of salvation
Leaving the far distant constellations into her gentle embrace
No longer seeking the shore
As I draw another breath and plunge deeper into her depths
My gills open and allow me to rest
As water fills my body and flesh

No longer needing to return to the surface again
I am Deep
and I go deeper
still…
