In this Runaway Train guitar lesson video, I will show you all of the guitar chords to this acoustic ballad hit by Soul Asylum.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

There are a couple guitars at work on Runaway Train. What I will be demonstrating here is mostly just what Dave Pirner plays and not the overdubbed fills and solo.

I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.

For the song's intro, I will combine both guitar parts into something playable on just one guitar but then just stick with Dave's guitar part for the rest of the song, which just holds down the underlying harmony.
