This is a story from long, long ago
Such a glorious apparition I saw
Some say it fiction, but only I know
This vision left me in awe

My feet tired, my spirit worn down
Far ahead a figure cloaked in green
So suddenly her light shone for me
Hooded head, eyes full of sheen

A sweet melody did fill the air
Calling my lost soul toward the sound
Full of longing, love, and despair
I’d never felt a thing so profound

I could do naught but follow her light
But much as I walked I naught drew near
For as soon as I was a little closer
She drew ever, ever further

At last a rushing river I reached
White magic did drift through the air
A prettier sight never did I see
As that fae girl so fair, so fair

Strands of gold blew from her crown
In her eyes constellations of stars
A slight smile touched her rosy lips
A rift in time, a moment of ours

But as soon as a smile crossed my face
As suddenly she came, she was gone
And to this day I keep walking those shores
Hoping she’ll return with the dawn
