We welcome two thousand and twenty two
What will this new year do to you
What if it’s another -not so- happy year
And all you can see is chaos and fear

The world deconstructing itself
Wisdom and truth put on the shelf
Rioters take over cities and towns
Kingdoms and palaces start to drown

The earth is crumbling under our feet
Environmentalists can’t take the heat
There’s confusion among those who fight for equality
I guess no one succeeds in finding identity

It really feels like the world's gone insane
Well it’s easy to say I’m not to blame
What if I tell you that might not be true
‘Cause you also did what’s been done to you

So how do we make this a wonderful year
Maybe the answer is already here
Where do we find the true source of love
Don’t look inside - but look up above
