In challenging today's hip hop, mumble rap has dimmed the lights on lyrical prowess, and an enlightened pride for NOT making lyrical-sense has become the norm; this is hip-hop degradation at its finest. "Spoken Word" goes back to a time when the lyrics were EVERYTHING, and the storyline made sense for its purpose, not simply because the words rhymed.
