TBN UK Holy Week Reflections.
Perfection has caused you and I to see ourselves
Through the spectacle of a shattered lens
Easily scrutinising all He has paid the price for
Leading to war on the inside of us,
Desiring to be made righteous by our works
Refusing to let Grace do her work
And yes I know, the shame of the regret causes you to regress
With the guilt of your mess remaining under the desk - Never to be revealed
Like a vivid history you’d rather it remain concealed as a mystery
Yet never forget you are an arrow in the Father’s quiver
And though the enemy may try to pull you back with remembrance
Your que to say yes to repentance
Shoots you forward before the throne room of grace
Like a refined arrow in elegance
So come now, take the bold steps into the chambers of grace
For your adversary has been put into chains
And the counts held against you have been erased
Your crime has not been charged
Rather His blood discharged
Who can bring a charge against God’s elect
When it’s God who selects
You and I, out of the ashes
To resurrect, in beauty, His truly
The splashes of His blood was and is
Once and for all
He no longer needs the bulls of your works
Or the sacrifices of your self-condemnation
Fighting the internal war in your soul
That rages with indignation
Telling you “no, you should had known better
Even if He forgives you, how could YOU forgive you”
So you work for your own remissions
Till you have a personal conviction
Not of His Spirit, but of your feelings
He needs not your works and He needs not your repeated sacrifices
But a contrite heart that’s laid down at the foot of Calvary
Is what is required for surgery
Healing the repentant soul
For all He desires is to make You whole
Your mind is not the playground of the enemy
So take captive of the thoughts and the memories
Remember the words of Your Redeemer
Your mind couldn’t be any cleaner
John fifteen three
Because of the words I have spoken to You, you are already clean,
Already His
Already redeemed
Already free
Already justified
Just-as-if-you-died
Resurrected in love through Baptism in His Son
Your new-life beaming like a new born shining with the brightness of a new dawn
Never allow the lies of the enemy
Bring back to memory
What the blood of Christ took care of at Calvary.
To him who believes, You’ve been forgiven;
To him who’s been redeemed You are His;
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus
Who do not walk according to the flesh
But according to the Spirit
And not your feelings
Will you - come - repent - believe?
