strange days

Call me a hollow man
I'm heading downtown, elegant & burnt
Time is sharply cutting into me
Fulfilling my addiction at an internet lounge

The star of the crowd
The strange things I want to share with you

To watch you dance until the end
Pacifying the earth to sleep
So maybe, maybe we can have some alone time together

I re-winded back to the first time I met you
Asking the question, "Hello, is it me?"
You said nothing lasts forever
But I never had a chance in the first place
So I turned back to a bottle & a dream
I guess, it's the norm in these days, these strange days

Strange days are here to stay
Contemplating fast love and repentance
They seem incompatible
Everything plus grievances were still under the bed
And time converting me into a man-made nomad without a direction

The idea to uncreate you cannot die
You are after all the origin of original
So feed my curiosity with strange fruits
Serve two as a refreshment in the penthouse
Of a stone roadhouse

Strange days are to stay so I must leave
I'm going blind while wounds grow older
It's spinning webs around the rim of my days
Packing memories
And moving on to where you haven't been wanted

I'll give you signs of plans I have for you
I'll starve you with a smile
Burn you over a mile
Free you in overtime
Pulverize the pulse
Curb procrastinations
And punctuate the punishment

I'll fulfill your self-prophecies
I'll promise to be with you forever
I might have a shot at it then
I'll wait for you there
Don't disappoint me
It's hard enough as it is
In these strange days
