In this guitar lesson video for Sublime's "Wrong Way", I will show you how to play this massively popular song in its entirety.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
Bradley Nowell used his very skillful rhythm guitar chops in this Sublime classic, making it a great rhythm guitar workout.
The chords themselves are pretty simple, but the rapid muting after each chord strum during the fast reggae/ska sections makes them infinitely more difficult.
Beyond that, figuring out how you would like to pick those chords in order to keep those constant and extremely tight chord stabs consistent is your next challenge. I will talk about how Bradley played those chords stabs (using downstrokes on the upbeat), and also demonstrate them being played with upstrokes (which will probably feel more natural for most players).
Like I said before, "Wrong Way" makes an excellent rhythm guitar and muting workout if you can make it all the way through!
Have fun! Carl...
