When The Academy Is... released their first album, Almost Here, more than a decade ago it wasn't exactly smooth sailing. We asked about some little-known facts about the album's creation, and learned what went down from bassist Adam "Sisky" Siska and vocalist William Beckett.

For instance, did you know that Siska quit the band for less than a day after a fight over a bowl of Apple Jacks? Or that the first thousand pressings of the album were in the wrong color? Or that William smoked pot for the first time and wrote "Down and Out," in a period Siska calls their "experimental phase"?
