In this guitar lesson video for The Weight, I will show you how to play this great acoustic guitar song from the Band in its entirety.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

The most challenging section when trying to play this original version of The Weight, is the acoustic guitar intro played by Robbie Robertson. I will take you through that intro note-for-note.

From there we will tackle the three chord progressions that repeat for the rest of the song.

If you can play open position triads and simple barre chords, you probably won't have much trouble working you way through The Weight.
