In an interview with DJ Vlad, he says it was just artists talking about their realities, "The music didn't make the event, the event caused the music." During the sit-down, the Dallas-born rapper says "the machine" has pushed a lot of rappers with "juice." He explained, when it comes to the circle of life in the industry, conscious artists such as Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole have created a balance.
