➡️ The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have come highly recommended from all of you, and new ska bands are always such a treat for me to discover. Ska bassists are some of the most creative players who masterfully mix energetic grooves with lyrical bass melodies. I've seen countless requests for "Someday I Suppose" lately and was surprised to hear a slower, "funkier" take on the ska sound I've come to love. Bassist Joe Gittleman appears to be a seasoned pro with groovy, melodic bass lines that quickly stuck themselves in my head. I discuss his "vocal melody" approach to bass grooves, how the jazzy articulations from the horn lines contrast the rest of the band, the melodic interplay between the horns and guitar leads, the endearing nature of 1990s music videos, and much more!
