James Scott Skinner (1843 – 1927) was, among other things, a fiddler and composer. He is regarded as one of the most influential fiddlers in Scottish traditional music, and was nicknamed "the Strathspey King“.
In 2001 I made an album of Scottish fiddles tunes, „A Scottish Legacy“ (Acoustic Music Records), which inevitably featured a few tunes by Scott Skinner, and my favourite is this one: „The Music o’ Spey“.
Various people have done fine versions of my arrangement already on Youtube, but I felt the urge to finally do one myself, so here it is.
I hope you enjoy it!
Arranged by Ian Melrose (Edition Antenna/Apefruit)
The Tabs/Score (and info about book and CD) can be found in my personal shop: https://melodic-muse.com/product/the-music-o-spey-celtic-fingerstyle-guitar/
