A short guitar lesson about the Tritone Chord Substitution. The tritone chord substitution is one of the most common chord substitutions in Jazz, but it's also used in other music genres like Soul, Blues, RnB etc.
A tritone substitution is when a dominant seventh chord is substituted for another dominant 7th chord, a tritone away from the original chord.
In order to really understand what a tritone substitution is we need to have a basic understanding of what a dominant 7th chord is and what a tritone is.
I hope you will enjoy this lesson about tritone substitutions and please let me know if you have any questions.
