In this Fairytale Of New York guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great Christmas classic by The Pogues in its entirety.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

Most of the intro section of "Fairytale Of New York" is performed on piano along with a string section. For that section, I have arranged all of those parts together to be played on one acoustic guitar.

Once the more upbeat Irish sections of the song hit, you can hear some acoustic guitar strumming and we will be focusing on those chords for the rest of the song. The pace of the chord changes and strumming is quite fast, making this an excellent rhythm guitar workout.

I will cover each section of the song in the order that each of them appears on the original recording.
