With poetry as in life
you can say a lot using silence

The spaces that fill in time
the words that aren't spoken
say much
truly speaking volumes

Silence can be a loud crack of thunder in reverse
a sucking, reversing, volume
that shifts the air
that is felt in the soul and in the heart

Silence can be a killer in fact

Sometimes when we are silent
we are the ones doing the killing
