@CurtisBooksMusic has been trying to make an argument that the example I demonstrated in one of my videos is NOT #songo …he also challenged me to give him examples of that pattern being used in music… so here ya go, my friend. I look forward to your reply…

Songo is a newer rhythm initial created by José Luis Quintana aka Changuito… with the Cuban group Los Van Van. It is the only Afro-Cuban rhythm created with the #drumset in mind.

If you wanna go deep into Songo check out this lesson from Changuito himself where he demonstrates all of the movements of Songo. Very interesting stuff!
