You know, a while back, when *certain* folks started makin' a much more noticeable fuss in society about what a woman is--right, wrong, good, bad or ugly--I saw a rather vocal backlash from a typically underrepresented demographic: the down and dirty, back-breakin', blue collared, ass-kickin', rural, American moms. I saw some coal miner lady rip a few new assholes in some people...and her fury was every bit as strong as anything Walker: Texas Ranger could dish out, maybe even more. Point is, I'm tippin' my hat to all those ladies livin' the hard life, working with shithead men, other shithead ladies, striking out in the dating game, or dealing with shithead husbands, or raising shithead kids, working hard jobs (sometimes more than one) to pay high rent for a shitty apartment in the shittiest part of a really shitty town, and still manage to cook, clean, do the chores and keep things going. A lot of women do that, but the ones I'm talking about specifically are the troublemakers, the rowdy, rough around the edges types, those who will never be a Southern Belle, and they don't need to be, and they don't need a man at all.

If they want to drink whisky, live wild and talk shit when downtime actually comes...let 'em unwind. The world is a better place because of those strong, free-spirited foul-mouthed women who wont take shit from anybody. If you give them a listen, they speak harsh truths. If you give them a chance, they'll always surprise you in more ways than one. Here's to the Americana Mamas -- and to the freedom they've earned.
