This week we are back with Queensland Symphony Orchestra's Phoebe Russell with a lesson on shifting. Phoebe shares her top three tips for shifting, including the use of arm weight, thumb position, visualising the note you're about to play, and using the bow to assist your left hand. It's an essential bite-sized lesson that is useful to any bassist (classical or jazz!) looking to improve their shifting technique.
