My performance during "TANAW", Laya Philippines' first gig of the year. Thanks to Kuya Ralph for accompanying me on acoustic guitar.
I wrote this poem back in April 2024 when I was invited to perform at Unwind Boutique Hotel Makati for a free star-viewing night with Manila Street Astronomers. I never planned to perform this piece again after that event, but I realized its theme aligns perfectly with Laya Philippines' longstanding advocacy for Self-love, even through the use of common metaphors.
I was actually burning with fever the night before this event, but if there's one thing I've learned in the world of performance art, as long as your limbs work well - always show up.
