One of my favorite Greek traditional tunes and dances!
Known by many names. Molaveo and Stangena are the most popular.

The tune has it all. Slow and patient rhythm, middle tempo that can be danced by the young and old and of course a very fast last part for those who really have the energy and like to show of a little????
Above else, it has this forward and healthy energy that leaves every one at the end feeling tired but euphoric!

For the musicians: The main time signatures are 13/8 and 11/8. But the first very slow part always is formed by the dancer leading the circle. The musicians look at his feet and adjust the rhythm accordingly. Thus resulting in an uneven although very natural time signature. Because i was recording the video my self, i went with 27/16 for the first about 1:30 min.

I recorded 3 melodic trumpet voices(1 high octave) plus 1 solo and 1 trumpet playing a couple of high notes at the end.
I also recorded 3 ''baritones'' and 1 ''Tuba'' by lowering the pitch post production by 1 and by 2 octaves respectively. And for the first time ever i recorded a Davul. Please be kind ????
