Learn how to play Victim of Love as performed by The Eagles from their Hotel California album from 1976 (I mistakenly said it was off the Long Run album in the video - my bad). Don Felder had this song written lyrics & music, presented to the band, but they vetoed the lyrics, so they did a lyric re-write and transformed it into the song we know today.

Don Felder played this in open E tuning for both rhythm and lead parts. I'll cover all of those in this lesson. Very cool guitar arrangement, and the open E tuning makes you play the intro lick slightly differently than how you would normally do it in standard tuning, but once you get used to it, you'll love it!

I used a ceramic/porcelain slide in this lesson, and I'm totally sold on the ease of use and the tone these give me. Want one? Here's a link to get one for yourself from Sweetwater. I don't know if I'll ever go back to glass or metal slides ever again.

Got a suggestion for a piece of a song to cover on an upcoming episode? Leave it in the comments, would love to hear ideas.
