New Viking music, and one step closer to the making of my Viking album! =) “Blóð ok Dýrð” is Old Norse and means “blood and glory”. I was finally having the time again to dive into the topic of Norse culture and actually started multiple Viking songs, this is just the first one I finished. =) I also plan to use my voice again in some of the other Viking songs and also have some lyrics already.
As with my other Viking songs, I try to achieve a traditional feeling in the songs but it’s not my main goal (since I don’t even have real ancient instruments). So it’s of course not Viking music in the sense of “the music Vikings would have played” but rather in the meaning of “music that tells stories ABOUT Vikings”. I just have to add that again because I know how it feels to be a huge fan of Norse culture and know that when you’re so passionate about it details start to matter a lot. So for everyone who can relate to that: I know it’s not what Vikings played 1’000 years ago. xD It’s just my artistic way of telling stories about them.
