voices in discordance (Poetry - Spoken Word)

We are the voices in discordance,
Denouncing injustice and its arrogance,
In a world where greed reigns as king,
Souls extinguished, victims of this suffering.

Oh, how I long to break free from chains,
Of a society that struggles to attain,
Recognition of equality,
For every being, in reality.

Arrogant and cruel patriarchs, they stand,
Their hands stained with the blood of demand,
Crushing the weak, hungry for power,
Their hearts devoid of humanity, their souls dour.

And what of those religious fanatics,
Spreading terror with their fiery antics,
Their holy scriptures preach of love and light,
But they twist and distort, causing daily strife.

Popes, not celestial guides, as they claim,
Imams too, not always wise in their aim,
Defending doctrines, material gain,
Forgetting their true spiritual domain.

In a broken world ruled by avarice's woe,
We raise our voices, resisting the flow,
We are the refuse of the established norm,
Yet we'll be the ones who challenge and transform.

With the strength of our words and love's embrace,
We'll build a better future, leaving no trace,
Uprooting hatred and division's toll,
Nurturing unity in our hearts, making them whole.

We are the seeds of rebellion's spark,
The defiant weeds standing tall in the dark,
Believers in a world that will thrive,
Where harmony prevails and all will thrive.
