Walsingham Variations by John Bull -- Var. 1-9

This is my favorite Bull. This is a work in progress that I am resurrecting, which I had played many eons ago. I gravitate towards a slower tempo because I like the lyricism. I try to play all these nine variations at the same metronomic beat. Very interesting that these "30 Variations" were composed about 150 years before Bach's famous "30 Variations". I don't think anyone knows for certain whether Bach knew this set or how much 1500s English keyboard music was floating around Germany in the 1700s, but could Bach have gotten his idea from this great late Renaissance / early Baroque masterwork?
