HERE’s WHY:
It’s impossible to hear what we really sound like while we are in the role of the singer. This is because sound travels forward, and what we hear while singing is literally the leftover sound of what’s bouncing around in our skull. When singers base this sound as what they really sound like, they are often dismayed when they hear a recording of themself for the first time!! “I sound so different!!” YES. We have all experienced this!! So step one is to start desensitizing yourself to your REAL sound. Once you start to grow to know your voice on this level, you will start to hear things you can improve. This will ultimately help you coach yourself and also bring trouble spots to your voice teacher!!!
