➡️ After hearing Pennywise for the first time a few months ago with Randy Bradbury on bass, you all encouraged me to go back to their debut album to hear the late Jason Thirsk's bass playing on "Bro Hymn", which is hailed as one of the band's most iconic songs. Clocking in at three minutes flat with only a single riff throughout the song, I was surprised at how anthemic and powerful this piece of music was. Learning about the song's subject matter prior to hearing it gave me a really unique experience, and I still can't get it out of my head. I discuss why this bass intro is so effective, how the guitar parts gradually incorporate energy into the song, precisely why the riff just "works", why the gang vocals are a perfect touch, and much more!
