Fate: The Winx Saga is our latest Netflix-binge show and we’re so fascinated by the creative way they approached bringing the magic to screen! The show has approached the magic in a unique way and because of that, the ethereal magic feels oddly accessible and realistic. This in part is why we feel so close to the Winx Saga world; the show has honored the world we know and create an environment we recognize, with just the right amount of magic on top that transports us into Alfea.
Many people might be interested to know how much CGI and visual effects are actually used. The creation of the magic was a combination of those alongside skilled artists using choreography, practical lights and prosthetics.
Bloom’s transformation is one of the most exquisite displays of magic in the show, but how much work actually went into it? The most other worldly characters are the disturbing “Burned Ones”. It may surprise viewers to know what percentage of what we see is computer generated and what is actually actors. We’ve got the answers!
When it comes to each of the fairies' powers, the creators worked hard to honor the realistic qualities of each of the elements. What simple tools did they use to ensure a perfect blend between realism and magic? Ever consider why each fairy has a specific eye color change when they are revealing in their powers?
The magic brought to screen is exquisite and we’re excited to dive in and share all the ways the production brought us into the world of Alfea.
