The 33rd episode of my guitar lick series and a lick from a living legend of the guitar: Joe Bonamassa! Known as a prodigious electric blues guitar player, Joe Bonamassa is also a collector of rare vintage guitars and has over 400 guitars and amps. Martin Guitar Company recently produced a signature model of the 1941 000-45 guitar he has in his collection. In this lesson, we'll learn a lick from a video of Joe playing his 000-45 and discover how a blues master approaches open position soloing on an acoustic guitar. We'll also look at some of the similarities between his playing and the blues influences of Tony Rice.
