Bach's "Chaconne" is one of those bucketlist pieces for many violinists. Mainly beacuse it's a beautiful piece of music, but it's also very technically demanding.
If you know anything about Bach, you know that he was known for his contrapuntal compositional styel (keep scrolling for the definition of "contrapuntal" if you don't know what that means). This compositional style is very difficult to play, since you have to know how to manage each one of melodic voices.
I started this practicing this piece when I was twelve or thirteen years old, though, I'm about seventeen years old in the video. Bach's "Chaconne" is still a piece that's part of my current repertoire, and, every year that I play it, I find new and interesting things in the music I hadn't focused on before.
Several years later, as I'm still playing and rehearsing this piece of music, I can honestly say that it's a BEAST of a solo violin piece.
If you're a violinist and you're currently struggling to play Bach's "Chaconne," please remember to be kind to yourself and patient throughout the process. It is so intricate that it's worth taking your time on it.

"CONTRAPUNTAL" refers to "COUNTERPOINT" which is a compositional style often associated with the Baroque period. In this style, composers weave in several independent and simultaneous melodic lines to create this specific texture. The "father of counterpoint" is often considered to be Bach, given how ingenious his counterpoint was and how broadly he relied on this as his compositional voice.
