Transcribed Sean Hurleys amazing bassline on David Ryan Harris song 'Yesterday Shuttin Down' on Scott's Bass Lessons-session. What a fun song to play! I do not own any rights to the song.
My focus wasn't on playing the notes 1 to 1, or even get the same tone as Sean, rather trying to copy the feel of his playing and fill the bass register with huge, a bit saturated sound that I like. The volume of the bass has left intentionally higher. I used the Moises-app to fade out Seans bassline, and recorded on top of that. Moises left those beautiful ring modulation-type of sounds and made Davids guitar sound like it's on a bottom of a well but hey, that's life.
No post-production or mixing, excluding volume of the tracks, in the recording.
Gear:
Fender Player P-bass with Ernie Ball Slinky Flatwounds
Line6 Helix
Soundcraft Notepad 12FX
Recorded on GarageBand
