In this video, I (a contemporary voice specialist) analyse Al Jarreau performing "Take 5", live in 1976 on the fly whilst watching and hearing it for the first time.

Watch me increasingly lose my s**t as I describe Al Jarreau’s musicia-human-ship and obsess over his boldly bizarre larynx rollercoaster ride. From mindblowing jazz chops, to alien dialects to fabulously thrilling rhythms, to gorgeous nostrils.. this really has it all. In this video, I analyse the composition and vocal performance. I explain and demonstrate the vocal techniques (from an anatomical perspective), and ultimately tell you what I think makes this so great.

If we are meeting for the first time, HELLO GORGEOUS! I'm Lolli, a voice teacher and vocal anatomy nerd specialising in contemporary techniques.
