After teaching drums for over 10 years, I have found some effective strategies in teaching drummers who have just began playing. This video shares the various steps that works for all my beginning students when learning drum set beats for the first time. I have done this lesson in person for years and always gets the students motivated and playing within 15 minutes of their first lesson!

This lesson aims to help students overcome any coordination barriers they may have when learning drum set. Theres a simple step by step process that helps new drummers gain the skills to play various grooves with different rhythmic feels. In the end, you will walk aways with the ability to play 4 different grooves.

The video includes simple instructions, demonstrations, drum machine animation of the grooves AND sheet music to help beginning drummers interpret the patterns.
