Ever since being introduced to this ride cymbal and consistently playing one for over two years, I have fallen in love with this style of K Series ride cymbal.

A couple of things I loved right away with this cymbal’s articulation, stick definition, and ability to open up and not overwhelm a mix.

I’m not entirely in love with this ride cymbals bell, although it is musical and makes up for it with its presence, articulation, and full-body sound.

I have used this style of ride for countless sessions, worship nights, Sunday mornings, gigs, and content videos ever since I got a hold of one in March of 2021.

For me, it’s the perfect cymbal for the situation I tend to find myself in.

Zildjian 23” K Custom Special Dry Ride Cymbal Features:

“K Custom Special Dry is the original dry cymbal remastered for today’s modern musical styles. These raw and earthy cymbals deliver a dry, funky sound with a quick attack and lots of dirt and can shut down quickly for a powerful expression of personality.

K Customs, like all Zildjian cast bronze cymbals, are individually poured and cast from raw molten metal. Each casting is cooled and sorted by weight for each cymbal model. Castings are then put through a complex sequence of heating, rolling, shaping, hammering, and lathing techniques unique to each cymbal range. Zildjian cast cymbals are made from Zildjian’s secret alloy, which is comprised of 80% copper, 20% tin, and traces of silver.”
