Because God, who is the originator of all good, the giver of all grace, wisdom, health, strength, victory in battles, sufficiency and even excess, always wanted His people to realize this, and if they were to boast, then they should only boast By Him. That has not changed, God remains the originator of all good even for us who have believed in His Son Jesus Christ, we cannot boast of anything but God and Christ Jesus crucified and humbly and gratefully serve Him and worship Him alone.
