This is an arrangement of the famous Prelude from Cello Suite no.1 in G Major by J.S.Bach by Mark J Smith. The Prelude is usually played an octave higher due to the tuning of the Cello. I've re-written the piece in the lower register of the bass making use of octave displacement for some of the low D and C notes.
This arrangement allows the piece to played on any 4 string, 20 fret bass.
In the next week I'll be releasing the first of the TalkingBass Study Piece courses in which you'll be able to work step-by-step through the Prelude with coaching from myself as I outline all of the technical hurdles and performance problems you might face. There is also a complete harmonic analysis of the piece.
