Recorded in Chicago in October 1953, is one of Joe Turner's greatest singles, and he made a lot of them indeed. The excellent backing band, the "Blues Kings", was recruited for this session by the Chess brothers themselves with Elmore James on electric (slide) guitar, Johnny Jones (piano), Jimmy Richardson (bass), Sonny Cohn (trumpet), Grady Jackson (tenor sax), Mack Easton (bariton sax) and Red Saunders on drums. The flip side, "TV Mama", is a slow standard blues with updated lyrics, featured Elmore James' masterful bottleneck guitar playing and became the chart hit, but Oke She Moke She Pop has with the whole band turning up the heat even better.
