Note how Bijan Taghavi (piano), Luther Hughes (bass) and Dom Moio (drums) all catch these 2 rhythmic hits together in a beautiful moment of rhythmic telepathy during the head in of "Desafinado".

1) 1 bar comping figure commonly played at the end of the Bridge section to a Bossa Nova tune (i.e. Wave, Girl From Ipanema, etc): 1,2... (hold)
2) 2 bar comping pattern: 2, 4, 2, &of3, &of4. This is less common but "the real ones" will know this authentic Brazilian rhythmic figure.
