This Polonaise in B flat minor was written by Chopin between 1826 and 1827, and is usually published with the subtitled "Adieu à Guillaume Kolberg" ('Goodbye to Guillaume Kolberg'). It quotes he tenor cavatina "Vieni fra queste braccia" from Rossini's opera La gazza ladra, which Chopin and Kolberg had seen together. The Polonaise was was posthumously published in 1879, even though Chopin had asked that it was burned upon his death. Nowadays it is usually referred to by its Brown catalogue number, B. 13.
