DARCIEUX "Noël Bressan" (for Brass Quintet with optional Timpani & Chimes)

This piece (Fransisque Darcieux's "Noël Bressan") is new to me, and I suspect that it will be new to most everyone, outside of maybe organists and a few choristers. Originally composed for organ, words have been given to the chant-like melodies for performance of various choral configurations. I think this lends itself extremely well to brass ensemble, and I just love the sound of it.

This arrangement is from composer and arranger, Andrew Lamb. You’ll be hearing more collaborations with Andrew in the near future!
Here, we’ve performed it with timpani and chimes; they are optional for performance, but I think they add a great deal here. Maybe down the road, we’ll publish a version of this with just the brass quintet—no timpani or chimes.
