Tech Tip: How to easily and quickly tune up your snare drum!
.
.
.
This drum technique is not my original drum hack or idea. This idea was first brought to the scene when Bob Gatzen did his tuning videos in the 90s.
I learned this hack from my good friends Kenny Sharretts and Isra Batista and couldn't be more thankful they did!
This one is as simple as it looks. Tensioning and tuning your drums using two drum keys.
Using two drum keys when tuning drums allows for faster and more even tension across the drumhead by simultaneously tuning opposing tension rods, which can lead to a more consistent and resonant sound
Instead of tensioning down one rod at a time this technique provides the stereo image to bring two tension rods down in unison.
It's really that simple.
It's not rocket surgery. Believe me, I was that blown away because it's so easy yet so effective!!
I encourage you to try it out. I have a good feeling you won't regret it!
Buttttt…….
What do you guys think? Do you use two drum keys when you tune your drums? Do you use this or something else? Leave a comment. Let’s talk about it!
Stay creative, and have a great rest of the week. Love you, guys!! Okay. Byeeeee. ????????????????❤️????????
